Spring has conducted an 8-week online program with highly talented individuals, aiming to build the next generation of fast-growing fintech startups in the MENA region. Delivered by our in-house team, this bootcamp focused on identifying potential founders. Upon completion, participants have the exclusive opportunity to pitch to a committee for the chance to join the founder program full-time.

OVERVIEW

This 8-week, part-time, free-to-join virtual program for early-stage Fintech founders aims to guide participants in ideating, designing, validating, and building fintech startups poised for venture capital success. With a focused curriculum emphasizing the swift design and validation of startup ideas, the program brings together a curated global community of knowledgeable and promising fintech founders.

This carefully cultivated network facilitates knowledge exchange and forms a supportive community of like-minded entrepreneurs. Additionally, the program serves as a launchpad for participants aspiring to join the Founder-in-Residence (FiR) program, providing a strategic pathway to receive pre-seed funding and follow-on capital.

MASTERCARD CHALLENGE

ABOUT THE EVENT

The challenge, “Financial Inclusion for the SDGs: Solving for the Future,” organized by Spring Venture Services in collaboration with leading fintech partners in Bahrain, invites university students to create innovative, data-drive solutions that enhance financial inclusion and address global challenges aligned with the UN’s SDGs. Winning teams receive mentorship, training, and a chance to present their solutions at Bahrain Fintech Forward.

OVERVIEW

The program started with a 3-week bootcamp featuring 11 fintech-driven solutions. The first phase focused on idea validation and impact assessment, ensuring each solution aligned with real-world needs and the SDGs. In the second phase, participants worked on transforming their ideas into scalable and viable solutions, preparing them to be developed as startups. Next was the prototyping phase, where teams released prototypes and gathered customer feedback to refine their solutions.

The program ended with a preliminary selection of 5 participants, who were chosen to pitch their revamped solutions at Fintech Forward. They identified bottlenecks and pivoted where needed to improve their ideas.

ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT

Our engagement with Tasmu is focused on assisting 25 scale-ups as they soft-land in Qatar, with the aim of helping them establish a sustainable presence in the market. We are specifically responsible for three key modules:

Go-To-Market Strategy: Guiding the scale-ups in developing tailored market entry strategies to localize their marketing entry and successfully launch their companies in Qatar.
Financials and Projections: Helping participants build solid financial models, assess their revenue potential, and create accurate financial projections to support growth. on Qatari grounds.
Investment Readiness and Pitching to Investors: Preparing scale-ups to become attractive to investors by offering in-depth insights into the regional investment landscape and strategies for securing upcoming funding rounds within the region.

OVERVIEW

Riyada Business Accelerator Program aims to increase the number of local innovative startups in high-potential sectors, support quality job creation, and boost innovation among startups. This will be achieved through various initiatives, including providing funding and resources to help entrepreneurs develop their ideas, offering training and mentorship opportunities to build their skills and knowledge, and fostering collaboration between startups and established companies in the same field.

By supporting the growth of these startups, the program aims to create high-quality jobs in the local area, thereby enhancing the economy. As part of the program, Spring Venture Services is responsible for sourcing high potential startups scouted at their early stage within , and taken through the program duration to lazer-focus on the 4 major pillars of the program.

CPISP HACKATHON

ABOUT THE EVENT

As part of the Bahrain Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program event (CPISP) 25th anniversary celebration, Spring Venture Services with an unwavering commitment to empowering talent, facilitated a hackathon titled Unite for A Change. It provided a platform for over 190 CPISP students/alumnis to immerse themselves in a fast-paced mini hackathon.

OVERVIEW

On day 1 of the event, the students and alumni were divided into groups and introduced to the team. They kicked off with an engaging icebreaker activity, fostering connections among participants.

On day 2 through a series of targeted tasks, participants gained valuable data-driven insights to refine their ideas, which was then transformed into actionable plans and strategies by each team. The culmination of their efforts resulted in the creation of vision boards, solidifying their commitment to shaping a future aligned with their aspirations.

INSURTECH HACKATHON

ABOUT THE EVENT

Spring in collaboration with Solidarity, General Assembly, and Tamkeen organized a 3-Day Insurtech Hackathon designed to foster innovation in the insurance industry, bringing together individuals with Insurtech ideas or an entrepreneurial spirit. Throughout the hackathon, participants are grouped into teams to collaboratively create prototypes, applications, or workflows. They benefit from mentorship and workshops, which facilitate the creative process and enhance their problem-solving skills.

OVERVIEW

First phase, an induction period from August 20th to August 24th, featured a series of activities and workshops designed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge. This preparatory week included intensive training sessions, brainstorming exercises, and team-building activities, setting the stage for the main event.

The second phase, a three-day hackathon from September 3rd to September 5th, was a high-energy, immersive experience where participants demonstrated their skills, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities. Working collaboratively in teams and leveraging their diverse backgrounds and expertise, they developed innovative solutions to real-world challenges. Overall, the Be the Disrupter hackathon provided a unique and dynamic environment that fostered creativity, collaboration, and the pursuit of disruptive ideas.

RAISE PROGRAM

ABOUT THE BOOTCAMP

Spring has partnered with Bahrain’s Labour Fund, Tamkeen, and StartUp Bahrain, a national ecosystem, to launch the Raise – Art of Fundraising Bootcamp. The bootcamp is a series of comprehensive three-week training sessions and pitch nights designed to equip participants with essential skills to successfully raise capital for their startups.

OVERVIEW

The ultimate goal of the bootcamp is to empower startups, enabling them to navigate their upcoming fundraising rounds with confidence. At the end of the program, the top seven startups will have the opportunity to showcase their innovative business ideas during a highly anticipated Pitch Night event.

This exclusive event will feature a panel of distinguished regional venture capital (VC) judges who will evaluate the startups pitching. The winning startup will not only gain well-deserved recognition but also secure a significant milestone in their fundraising journey with a chance to win a grand prize without giving up equity.
